People of different languages live in this upazila. In this upazila, 40 tea gardens comprise different language speakers. Besides, people of various language people live in indigenous villages.
The main characteristics of the language of the district are not like the other upazilas of Bangladesh, but some diversity is found. For example, the meaning of Mahapragna is not very much in the language, that is, the simplification of the language. There is a lot of similarity in the language of Sylhet, Dhaka, adjacent to the regional language. The movement of the river Dhali has had a great impact on the behavior of the union, eating habits, language and culture.
